It’s always the same routine, year after year. As soon as E3 concludes, we find ourselves anxiously waiting for Gamescom and the Tokyo Game Show to get our next fix of news and content. But what many often forget is that there are other events in that 3 month gap!
This is Japan Expo, an annual convention celebrating Japanese culture, history, products, and much more! This year, the event will be taking place from July 2 - 6 at the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Center.
Through a press release from Square Enix France, several titles have been confirmed to be playable at the event:
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMix
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (Special Guest - Director & Producer: Naoki Yoshida)
This is the first chance for European fans to try out the highly anticipated remaster, so if you’re willing and able to attend, we highly encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity!

We’re all familiar with the struggles of being in a popular fan-based community with limited official merchandise. Oftentimes, either the official items aren’t made available for purchase outside of a specific region, or unofficial items are uninspired.

Well, fret not! The talented folks at Teefury have you covered!

From 9:00 PM on June 19th, 2014 to 9:00 PM on June 20th, you can purchase the “It’s A Small Kingdom” design by JASON_CRYER for only $11! The sale only lasts 24 hours, so be sure to act fast!

Purchase the shirt here, on the Teefury official website.

But what if you’re interested in the shirt but hesitant about the purchase? Well, we have teamed up with Teefury to offer a grand total of 10 ‘It’s A Small Kingdom’ shirts in a giveaway!

All you need to do to enter the giveaway is answer the following question (for Tumblr, please do so in a reblog):

If you could add any one Kingdom Hearts-themed attraction or product to Disneyland, what would it be?

We will be distributing the shirts accordingly through our forums and social networks: forums (3), Facebook (2), Tumblr (3), and Twitter (2). You can enter only once on each website.

This giveaway is restricted to United States residences only and will close on June 29th at 11:59 PM PST. International entries are welcome so long as a proxy within the U.S. is provided.

Good luck to you all!

[Full interview is available here]

- Interesting. (laughs) Concerning the action, it looks like the Keyblade can transform. Nomura said there were also “ridiculous transformations”.
Yasue: Yeah. (laughs) [omitted] in a world, the Keyblade can change into [omitted]. The Keyblade will also be reflected on the style of the world.

This is rather interesting. Originally, it was assumed that he was referring to a new world, but the phrasing here wouldn’t make sense if that was the case. So what could fit in that omission that would make sense?
We thought about it and realized that it could only be a character name, specfically that of a Keyblade wielder. But we already know that Sora will be playable, so they wouldn’t try to hide that fact.
What if there was someone else we were going to play as? Do you think they’re preparing for multiple playable characters in Kingdom Hearts III? Who do you think it could be?

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMix Featured in Famitsu!

E3 may be over, but the news continues with an 8-page feature on Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMix! The spotlight shines on Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix in this spread, showing off the glorious graphical upgrade and all the new additions set to finally grace western shores, including new Christmas Town outfits, Sora’s Limit Form and the infamous Lingering Sentiment battle.

Translations will be added soon. Until then, you can view the scans on our website!

Update: Translations are now available to be read on our site! Here is an excerpt:

Co-director Tai Yasue Interview (1)

- KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5 ReMIX, three games from the series have been HD remastered for the first time, was released last year. How were the fan reactions?

Tai Yasue: KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5 ReMIX in general received positive feedback. However in the cutscenes of KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2 Days, we received opinions that it was “difficult to understand because there were no battle scenes”. So KINGDOM HEARTS Re:coded was created in the same manner in KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.5 ReMIX as footage with both battle scenes and event cutscenes. The battles will be one of the highlights of this title.
